Why Seoul in South Korea Keeps Calling Me Back

"If I'm not visiting my hometown of Budapest, you'll usually find me in Seoul."

This little nation been through a lot which is in parallel to my home country .

What to expect when you visit South Korea you might ask? Well, prior to leaving home, you have to do some entry forms that are uncomplicated and then off you go. Flying with Korean Air or Asiana from Sydney is nice and easy. Both of them offer a very good business class service with a Korean flair. But be prepared - Seoul is huge!  Just to get to the city centre from the airport, you have to travel about 90 mins, but once you are there… you will love every minute!

You could easily spend a week just in Seoul – visit one the 7 major Buddhist temples, experience some of the traditional ancient Hanok villages ( you can even dress up in their costume ), or travel to the DMZ and beyond.

You can try many of their traditional foods, as well as a Milkis soft drink which is a local favourite.

Once you explored all that Seoul and its neighbouring areas offer,  I recommend travelling south by  the easy and efficient local train system to see some other parts like Jeonju (which is the food capital of South Korea and UNESCO City of Gastronomy) or Busan’s Sky Capsule and colourful houses at Gamcheon Culture Village, or even Jeju Island which is all about nature.

When I go back to Hungary, I always endeavour to travel via Seoul to enjoy all that this fabulous city and country has on offer.
