Nobody knows Japan like Mitsui Ocean Cruises
Recently, I had the opportunity to experience Mitsui Ocean Cruises in Japan and honestly, it was one of the most unique cruise experiences I’ve had.
What stood out to me immediately was how authentically Japanese the experience felt. This is not a mainstream Western cruise line with a few Japanese-inspired touches added in - the culture is woven into every part of the journey, from the food and activities to the hospitality and atmosphere onboard. I particularly enjoyed the Japanese touches in décor everywhere (flowers, tableware and origami bits and pieces) and the food was nothing short of outstanding!
“I think this cruise would suit even the most discerning traveller.”
I would describe the experience as sitting somewhere between expedition-style cruising and ultra-luxury cruising. It feels refined and beautifully run without ever becoming overly formal or intimidating. The ship itself was elegant and comfortable, the staff were warm and attentive, and there was always something happening throughout the day.
“The bathroom was huge compared to other ships I have sailed on.”
One thing that genuinely surprised me was the size of the accommodation. My cabin was beautifully designed, very comfortable and much larger than I expected compared to many other ships I’ve sailed on. The balcony was spacious, the bed and couch were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was enormous by cruise ship standards.
Overall, I would recommend Mitsui Ocean Cruises to my clients who wish to experience Japan in depth. Mitsui Ocean Cruises have over 100 years experience cruising Japan, and they offer unique itineraries which cover much more of Japan and the surrounding areas than any other cruise operator.
